We began 10th year of our mission by attending an annual Valentine’s Day Ball. During the event our guests enjoyed performances of Michelle Baranowski a young Polish vocalist as well as Joseph Dance Studio dancers. For art lovers we had Teresa Rysztof, Rafal Olbinski and other local artists’ work auctioned.
On April 25, six young beautiful girls came to compete for the Miss CSF crown. The competition took place during spring dance fundraiser. All candidates presented themselves in two categories:
presence and talent show. Although decision was very difficult our jury had chosen Catherine Garderewicz as the new Miss CSF. Julia Izak took second place, and Oliwia Jankowska came in third. Julia Izak became also a Miss Photo. She and her family were to receive a professional photo session in Central Park.
On June 27, along with school of Polish Language and Culture in Maspeth, Children’s Smile Foundation hosted a summer feast. All profit from the event was to go towards scholarship for the School of Polish Language and Culture graduates. Over 150 gests joined us for the evening to help us promote education among young people.
On December 5th, Santa Claus visited us during our holiday event. All proceeds in the amount of $4500 went entirely towards holiday support for families in our community as well as orphanages in Poland.
