Our organization was started in 1999 with the help of Krzysztof Rostek, our founder. While on vacation in Poland, Krzysztof Rostek visited an orphanage in his hometown of Stalowa Wola. After spending time with children who were deprived of family warmth, he became more sensitive to their needs. It was at this time that he decided to do everything to make their lives more pleasant, build their confidence, and show them that they are not alone in this world. The management of the orphanage acquainted Mr. Rostek with their needs and problems. Upon his return to New York, he told his friends about his encounter in Poland and gathered a small group that dedicated itself to providing ongoing support for the orphans. Together they were able to put together a small donation that became sufficient enough to renovate some of the orphanage facilities. Thanks to the funds gathered from our charity events like dances, auctions of children’s drawaing, poem evenings, etc., we are able to provide the children with the basic necessities of everyday life, as well as educational tours, English lessons, horseback riding, swimming, and dance lessons. We have been helping orphaned children in cities like Stalowa Wola, Bialystok, and Jelenia Gora, supporting the development of the European Center of Children’s Collaboration- “House of the Heart” in Swidnica, helping children from poor or broken homes and those who are in need of medical treatment or suffer from diseases difficult to cure.
